Principles of Operation
- Uses fresh outdoor air – removes the need for mechanical cooling. Mechanical cooling only where air temperature and/or humidity is too high to be controlled by evaporative cooling
- Where temperature > maximum operating specification – uses the evaporative cooling effect of sprayed water
- In low temperature conditions – controlled by mixing the outside air with part of the returning air from the hot aisle
- In low humidity conditions – controlled by leveraging the humidity increase given by the evaporative cooler
- Fan speed and air flow – controlled by monitoring the inlet temperature and the IT power load
